(More customer reviews)the space guard seal kit is required for the Aprilaire unit that I have in my home. It is a real hassle to install although the steps are straightforward. You will need some adhesive spray to stick the filter to the door and a scraper to remove the old filter and adhesive from the door. In that regard, Aprilaire made a big mistake in the product design. Why not develop something that already has adhesive on it, or provide the spray? Removal of the old filter is such a pain, but if you want a clean air filter, you have no choice since there's really no other product that can be used. Be ready for what should be a 5 minute project to take an hour (including trip to hardware store for spray).
